Our desire is to:
-
Worship God as He commands and to glorify Him in all things.
-
Proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
-
To live our lives with the help of the Holy Spirit, loving God with all our heart, with all soul and with all our mind and loving our neighbours as ourselves.
Denominationally, we belong to the Free Church of Scotland, which has its roots in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. The word "Free" was assumed in 1843 and refers to the church's independence from the State in the government of her affairs. We are affiliated with the family of Presbyterian and Reformed Churches and hold as our subordinate standard, the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Our worship is in the mould of the Scottish Church’s reformed heritage under John Knox. We only sing inspired praise and with no instrumental accompaniment. We believe that the human voice is capable of producing marvellous music.
